PRIMARY TO YEAR 10
FOCUS
The focus in Primary to Year 10 is taking the foundational skills learned in early childhood to pre-primary stage and begin to apply them across all learning areas. This means students are given increased responsibility for managing and organizing activities and work in different groups of varying size.
THE AUSTRALIAN CURRICULUM
The Western Australian curriculum outline provides a coherent and comprehensive set of prescribed content and achievement standards for students to be taught in each year level. The achievement standard describes an expected level that the majority of students are achieving or working towards by the end of that year of schooling.
The curriculum is organized into eight learning areas. Each learning area contains a year-level syllabus. This syllabus includes a year-level description, specific curriculum content and the achievement standard for each year of schooling, from Primary to Year 10.
